Yet to be approved: Please contact MPOWER to discuss your options.
Documents you may require: If you are postponing your studies, a deferred admission letter will be required. If you do not require funding for the current term, you’ll need to provide a recent school invoice showing the payment was made.
Already approved: If you have an MPOWER-approved loan, you can submit a deferral request for the next term through your MPOWER Portal for us to verify and process.
Below are the steps to follow :
- Log into your MPOWER Portal and locate your approved loan application.
- Click on the loan application that you want to defer.
- Click on “View Details” on the top right side and then scroll to the bottom of the page.
- You’ll find a link titled “Defer my loan start date.” Click on it to request a deferral.
- On the next page, select the academic period you’d like to defer your loan to and click on “Confirm and Continue”.
- Select your reason for requesting the deferral and continue.
- Click on confirm and continue to the next screen to verify and submit your request.
- Verify the deferral request details here and continue to submit your request for our team to process.
* If your disbursement is in process or received by the school, you will not be able to request a deferral.
